It's Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas...

On Friday, while Mommy was sick in bed, Daddy brought up the Christmas decorations.

"We had to clean up first!" - Rhys

So we cleaned up all of the family room and put up decorations:

The Advent Calendar!

And Stockings!

Mommy's Jingling Snowman and Dog

The Nutcrackers

Now onto the rest of the house!

Noah Thursdays: Soccer, Soccer, Soccer!

Specifically on Thursdays, there will be special posts about Noah highlighting him as a person, his activities and his milestones.  Noah was born on a Thursday so it's only fitting that his featured posts fall on a Thursday.  Enjoy!

Soccer.  It's what I do now.  I have practices every Tuesday at the park right next to my house.  My soccer games are every Friday at the fields.  I have alot of fun at soccer, except when we're playing and we're all so close to each other, trying to kick the ball.   We need to learn to pass so we're not so close to each other. But I like playing soccer.  Especially defense.

Owen Wednesdays

Specifically on Wednesdays, there will be special posts featuring Owen highlighting him as a person, his activities and his milestones.  Owen was born on a Wednesday so it's only fitting that his featured posts fall on a Wednesday.  Enjoy!

I am 18 months old and I am walking.

And talking.

I say things like "Cracker!" and "Deats! (Eats)" and  "Poopy!"

I give The Mommy lots of hugs and snuggle and kiss The Daddy.

I love my brothers.

I really love my brothers.

In the morning, when Daddy carries me straight from my crib to the car and puts me in my carseat between them, that's the best because I see my brothers first thing and play with them all the way to their "school".

That's all for now.

Hanging out in a stroller...

Getting summer haircuts...

Hanging out at the creek in town...

Going on walks in rural Boulder...

And going to birthday parties....

Playing soccer...

And watching our brother play soccer...

Rolling down hills...

And playing with friends...

There's more to come 'cause summer's not over yet.

Bathroom Antics

Tonight, I walked in on three little rascals in the bathroom - two of them "brushing their teeth".  And they were, among other things...

One Amazing Birthday Week...

Last week was a BIG BIRTHDAY week. Noah turned 6 and Owen turned 1 on the same day: March 3rd.

A Bowling Birthday Bash for the almost 6 year old with classmates from school along to celebrate.

On the actual birthday, two mini cakes for the birthday boys. Guess who's cake was whose?

Opening presents followed but not before several phone calls and one Skype video from family with birthday greetings.

Then, the following Saturday, on March 5th, we celebrated our baby turning 1 with a small gathering of special friends...

...and one BIG birthday cake...

...and blowing out the candle with help from Big Brother...

...and then Cake! His first piece ever!

One fun-filled, hectic, amazing, busy birthday week. One to remember. One birthday week down, and it looks like about 12-15 more to go (depending on Noah and whether or not he wants us to throw him some parties after he turns 18).

These Days...

These days we do alot... Noah goes on field trips with his Kindergarten class. He went on a trip to the Butterfly Pavilion just last week.

Noah: I saw bugs there. That was cool.

These days, we've been sick...runny noses and lots of coughs and sneezes and sore throats. Especially Baby Owen. He takes his medicine though.

These days we've been watching The Airplane Movie that Mommy taped all about airplanes and their airports [History International Show:The World's Most Extreme Airports]. We watch it over and over.

Noah: And now we play airplanes that land at the airport. Daddy brought Rhys & me airplanes and a runway from when he went on his trip to Salt Lake City, Utah!

These days Noah's been playing basketball and bowling on the Wii and Air Hockey on the computer through NickJr.com where they have video games.

Noah: I play basketball at school. I got 2 baskets the other day and our team won!

These days, on Saturday and Sunday, we get dressed and make our beds before we have breakfast in the mornings.

Noah: We have Donuts on Sunday, and we just had Pancakes on Monday on President's Day!

These days there's school and church and school and times downstairs in the playroom...

Rhys: I like it when Noah plays with me. He's my friend. And brother. I hate it when he goes and does something else. It makes me upset.

Noah: I like playing with Rhys. Sometimes, I want to be by myself so I go to another part of the house.

The Mommy: These days have been pretty busy but routine. Now we're entering the season of Birthdays: going to parties and hosting two of our own - for The Noah & The Owen who will have birthdays in a couple of weeks.

Noah: I'm going to have a bowling party, just like last year.

The Mommy: And Baby Owen will have a special celebration at home.

Baby Owen: What's a party?

Stay tuned...

To Stand or Not To Stand And Other Things

To Stand or Not To Stand...And Other Things
By Owen, 10 & 1/2 months.

Stand! I try. When I'm holding onto my rocker seat or Mommy's hands.

Scoot. I'm getting good at that. I move along on my belly using my knees to push forward and I get around. I can go from the dining part of the house to the family room part and back.

Cat Water Dish. I go there. I love putting my hand in that cool clear stuff. The Mommy always pulls me away. I don't like that.

Eat! I can put food in my mouth. I do like that. Cheerios, Bread, Crumbs that I find on the floor. I scream when I want something to eat. I scream Loud and The Mommy's feet start moving fast then. And she gives me that food.

That Special Word. That word that they use to call me: Owen. Owen. It's a nice sounding word:
The Mommy: "Owen. Owen! Owen, no, sit down."
Big Brother Rhys: "Hi Owen."; "Owen, no, stop!"
The Daddy: "Owen. Hi there. I love you!"
Big Brother Noah: "Owen! I think he likes me. Do you love me, Owen?"

Owen. A cool word.

Sounds. I can do a mean scream. The best is when I am unhappy. Like when The Mommy tries to put me down for a nap. And I do other sounds: "Me-me-me-me"; "Ba-ba-ba-ba"; "Baaaaaaaaa....."

Hands. Cool things. I like to look at them. And I can make them move. I wave them at people or I open and close them or if I want something, I reach them out to grab at something or I sue them to tell The Mommy I want something.

Mote. My favorite toy. I know that it makes the picture on the big square box change. I've tried to change those pictures myself. That's when my Big Bros or The Mommy yells out that special word again:

"Owen!"
Nice.

Happy New Year, Happy New Times

It's been a busy time these last few weeks since the Christmas holidays. We've hosted two sets of family, and the boys engaged in lots of playtime with their new rescue helicopters and Wii system, along with a couple of trips out to their favorite haunts. School has started again, and along with that comes a flurry of new activity. And in the midst of it all, 10 month old Owen is crawling and cruising and becoming more independent...and much more vocal. Time is beginning to fly again...but so far, the time has been good and happy....

So Happy New Year to you, and Happy New Times...
